lots of news and tons of pictures

I'm not so great at this blogging thing! We were gone for a month over the holidays for C's break, and now it's April and I never got back to it..oops. But I'm back. So for a little catch-up, the holidays were great. We spent a couple weeks in Utah with the Bednar side, then a week in PA with the Snyder side. We obviously had a wonderful time at both places, and we were sad to come home. After a month break from school C had to get back into it! But something extra exciting happened near the end of our break when we were in PA. I took a pregnancy test, and it was positive! We had been trying so I was super on top of the exact day I could take a test; that's why I couldn't wait the couple extra days until we got home. We hadn't been trying for long though, so we were thrilled and actually C didn't even believe me when I first told him! Since we were with my family we wanted to tell them instead of waiting and revealing it over skype. So we thought of something really quickly and put A in a shirt that said "big sis"  (that I actually painted myself because we couldn't find one at the store that day), and we put it on her the next evening while all my family was around. Auntie S was the first to discover it! It's kind of funny because if I remember correctly the first thing she said when she saw the shirt was "what the heck?!?!" Haha. Then we took a pic of A in the shirt and sent it to C's family. It was fun, but honestly no one was really surprised because everyone pretty much knew we were wanting baby #2. Anyway, yes, that has been the big story in our lives as of the past couple months!

I started feeling nauseous pretty early, by the time I was 5 weeks. I was basically nauseous 24/7 but luckily no throwing up. So I was basically trying to eat almost constantly because it helped the nausea a little bit. It was probably worst in the evenings/nights. Oh and of course I was exhausted, but I'm pretty sure that happens to everyone. It was no fun, but the yucky stuff slowly faded out. The bad nausea was over after about a month, and pretty much all the nausea was gone by the end of the first trimester. Since then I have been fine, still a little tired, but that could just be because I'm taking care of a 1 1/2 year old too... Oh and because I was constantly eating carbs to try to help the nausea, I gained like 10-12 lbs the first trimester!!!! I was really freaked out because that didn't happen until later with my first pregnancy. But since then the gain has slowed down, and hopefully it stays slow! I've gotten back to working out at least 4x/week and trying to eat more healthily, so I know that's helped. Also, my relief society (women at church) is doing a health challenge with healthy eating and working out as part, so that is good additional motivation. As of today, I'm 17 weeks! It's gone a lot faster than I remember A's pregnancy going. I thought I felt little movements pretty early, like a month ago maybe..but I started feeling movements for sure by 14-15 weeks. I know it's early, but I felt early last pregnancy for it being my first one, by 16 weeks. Anyway, I've been feeling more and more movements lately. C even felt a tiny kick the other night. And we have the ultrasound and find out the gender (hopefully) in less than 2 weeks!! Ahh we are so very excited- excited to have either another little girl or get a boy this time! Both are just as fun for me, but C wants his little boy this time ;) We kind of feel like it's a boy, but we aren't too sure, so we shall see. Oh and as of now we are planning to try for a vbac (vaginal birth after cesarean). That's another whole post in itself, so maybe I'll get into it more later :) I think I've just about covered everything about the pregnancy...

Next topic is A; of course she is the most exciting member of the family, so I have to talk about her. She is just A! I think she is becoming more and more feisty by the day. She is slowly (well more quickly as of late) entering the terrible twos. One of her favorite words is "no" right now and she also likes throwing fits, which include grabbing or hitting if they are really bad (she's only done that a few times). She just really loves saying "no" to everything that doesn't please her, and she is very strong-willed. We can only hope and pray it will lead her to to great things in life! She has started saying lots and lots of words lately, but only if she wants to. If you try to get her to say something, it usually doesn't work. She is really good at animal noises, and she really likes her animal-counting-popping book, where you pop these little plastic poppers as you count the animals. Anyway it's by far her favorite book. She is getting pickier about eating, and she usually doesn't eat dinner very well. So dinner has once again become a hard time for us. She is addicted to cheese, and would probably eat 15 cheese sticks a day if we let her. Usually we try to keep it at a 3-or-under cheese stick limit per day... She is a good girl though. We are trying to teach her to be "nice," but it's hard to get a 19-month-old to stop saying (more like yelling) "no!" to everything. But we do our best. She is actually pretty good at listening and not going too far when we're outside and not throwing a fit when it's time to go from somewhere (I'm guessing that'll kick in sometime in the future lol.). She is ok at sleeping. She is really spotty; she's never gone a long period of time where she is really consisted with sleeping. Her naps are the best part of her sleeping; she is pretty consisted with an hr and a half nap, which is a dream compared to her earlier catnapping habits. But at night, like I said, she is off and on. Sometimes she will sleep through the night, but some nights we have to go in twice. Normally she goes back to sleep if we just go in and say it's ok and rub her back for a few seconds. Sometimes though she has a freak-out, and we have to rock her back to sleep. Oh well I guess. Oh and if she is anywhere other than her bed, all bets are off. Of course she is a blast and we love her to death. She is generally good-natured, but lately it's been hard because she's been extra grouchy. I think her second molars may be coming in, but who knows- maybe she just feels like being grouchy! She is certainly a vibrant little child, and she brings lots of joy and laughter and cuteness to our home. Oh! One adorable thing she has started to do is say her own little prayer. She usually does it when we say it's time for prayer and one of us starts praying, but she folds her arms and mumbles some toddler jibberish for a couple seconds then says "amen!" in the cutest way imaginable. It's pretty precious.

So for the last piece of news- we are moving to Utah for the summer! We will be living in the Bednar's vacation home in Midway because C got an internship at a lodge in Park City. We are pretty beyond excited. As it gets closer, I get more and more impatient and antsy to go! We're going to be living in a gorgeous house, in a gorgeous location, with a pool basically in our back yard, close to family. How can you get any better?! We've never lived closer than 3 hrs from family (besides siblings at college) since we've been married, so it will be a really nice summer. Plus, there are lots of family events we'll get to be a part of- C's brother's wife K will be having her baby, his other brother J is leaving for his mission, and there may or may not be a wedding... Also, my family will be coming out to stay with us for about a week in July, so that adds to the fun as well! We leave in just about 3 weeks now! So exciting! I already have a dr's appt lined up for when we get there too, so we are set to go. We will drive out with basically just clothes because we won't need much of anything else.

Ok so enough talking- now for some pictures!
